3 Things to Consider Before Buying a Thermal Imaging Camera

Inspecting the surroundings to identify the potential threats for law enforcement personnel is a challenging task. As you need to gather sufficient data for evidence, you should use a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) to perform your task. Although most of the thermal imaging cameras have similar properties, to make sure that you make the right choice, you need to look at a lot of other things.

To help you make the right decision, here are some of the things you should consider before buying a TIC:

1. Resolution of the camera

First things first, you should look at the resolution of the camera before you buy it. As the images or recordings that you will make will be shot in low-light settings, you should make sure that the TIC you are buying has a high resolution of the images. TIC or infrared cameras have a different range of visibility that actively helps in the capturing or recording of images.

2. Battery

The next thing you should consider is the battery of the camera. As you may need to conduct your search operations for a long duration, you should check that the infrared camera you are buying has long battery life. Besides, you should see whether the battery in the TIC is interchangeable or not. In case it is not, then you should consider buying a different model of TIC.

3. Weight of the camera

Finally, you should look for a TIC that is light in weight. Since you will need to hold the camera from the pole in different positions, you should select a camera that is easy to handle. So, when you are selecting a TIC, make sure that you check the weight of the camera, the pole and the equipment. If you feel it is too heavy, then you should look for a different model of TIC.

There are a lot of reputable TIC retailers such as Eyepole that offer high-tech surveillance equipment. Browse through their websites to know more.
